This week, we had finals. There were two essays. One, was a business letter and the other one was a writing prompt essay. I did my writing prompt essay on dialect and hoe dialect helps literature. Personally, I love seeing dialect in literature because it gives it personality. Plus, it engages the reader, as well. I gave six examples from three different books, Out of My Mind, Bridge to Terabithia, and The Pearl. Each one of those books has many examples of dialect throughout it. Characters are explained from what they say and that is dialect, that is the whole meaning of dialect. For the business letter, I wrote three paragraphs (one for each trimester) and then I explained why I learned and what happened in my life during that trimester. I received my business letter back yesterday and I discovered that I got a 100% on it! I was very pleased. I read through it again and I saw that Mrs. Todesco corrected something. I looked closer and it was that I put “thins” instead go “things”. I was laughing pretty hard, but I was just happy that I didn’t get points off for the typo that I accidentally wrote. I was stressed out for both essays because we had two hours to do both of them, one hour for each. The last time I had to write an essay in class, it took me more than an hour which frightened me because I thought the same would happen here. Thankfully, I finished both in time I and think that I did great on my writing prompt essay. Here is a hyperlink to a video about essays vvvvv
